Hi, my name is Tracy McCord and I have been dealing with issues of anxiety, panic and depression for many years now. I completely have them under control at this point my life, but it wasn’t that long ago that I experienced some really disturbing episodes that were very difficult to handle. When a panic attack would come on really strongly I would honestly feel like I was about to collapse.
Make Sure to read my story – I have totally recovered from anxiety and panic attacks but I have been there and I know how painful it is!
I’d have a really difficult time breathing and my heart would race really fast and it hardly ever seemed like it was going to ever slow down again. These are some of the symptoms of a panic attack and if you’ve ever experience that you know just how scary it really is.
What’s The Deal With Anxiety During Pregnancy?
If you are an expectant mother dealing with anxiety during pregnancy then I am not surprised that you have a lot of questions about what to expect and what may or may not be healthy for your unborn child. That’s got to be difficult not knowing whether or not your baby is going to be okay, and it’s very normal to wonder about these things and what they might do to you.
Experiencing anxiety during pregnancy is unfortunately going to be a very stressful situation for you. So if you’re worried about anxiety and having panic attacks then you need to stay as calm as you possibly can and try not to think about some of the following topics:
- avoid heavily thinking about whether you will want this pregnancy or not
- do not think too deeply about emotional or moral support if you don’t think you’re going to have any from a significant other
- try not to worry about whether you’re going to experience a miscarriage or if you’ve had a miscarriage before you need to let it go
- avoid any situations where you’ll be thinking about any relationship issues that you may have with the unborn child’s father
- don’t think about any income uncertainties that could bring about anxiety during pregnancy
It’s really important that you stay in good mental health while you are pregnant, so try and get some emotional support from members of your family or close friends if this is possible. You really need to start thinking more about your baby then yourself, so you have to make decisions that are going to be absolutely the best for the unborn child. I’m sure you want to do this already anyway, but I don’t want you to let anxiety during pregnancy get in the way of certain decisions you may have to make.
The main thing you need to know about anxiety during pregnancy is that any medication you might be taking is definitely safe for the unborn child. But recognize that anxiety really is unhealthy for the pregnancy and it’s really not healthy for you either, so it would definitely be a good idea to get it under control during this time. Don’t let the stress of anxiety and panic attacks cause any unwanted complications during your pregnancy.
